    Course Overview

Your clients' nervous systems are running the show — and most of them don't know it. Anxiety, emotional reactivity, shutdown, chronic tension, insomnia, people-pleasing, dissociation — these aren't just 'mindset problems.' They're nervous system patterns. And until your clients learn to work with their nervous system instead of against it, real change stays out of reach. This practitioner program gives you a complete, client-ready system for teaching nervous system regulation through a hypnotherapy lens. You'll learn how to help clients identify their dominant nervous system state, understand their unique stress responses, and use guided regulation techniques — including vagal toning, somatic tracking, co-regulation, breathwork, and state-shifting hypnotic protocols — to move from chronic dysregulation into embodied safety and resilience. Built on Polyvagal Theory, the neuroscience of self-regulation, and clinical hypnotherapy principles, this program bridges the gap between understanding the nervous system intellectually and actually helping clients change how they live in their bodies. You'll leave with a turnkey practitioner toolkit: client-facing worksheets, session scripts, a regulation protocol library, and a framework for running your own 'Regulate Your Nervous System' group program or 1:1 series.

    What You'll Learn

Understand the autonomic nervous system through a Polyvagal lens and translate that understanding into practical client work
Assess clients' dominant nervous system states (ventral vagal, sympathetic, dorsal vagal) and design targeted regulation strategies
Facilitate vagal toning exercises, co-regulation techniques, and somatic tracking practices within hypnotherapy sessions
Guide clients through state-shifting hypnotic protocols that move them from freeze, fight/flight, or fawn into ventral vagal safety
Teach clients to recognize their personal nervous system patterns — triggers, window of tolerance, and recovery pathways
Build and deliver a structured 'Regulate Your Nervous System' group program or 1:1 series using the included turnkey toolkit
Create personalized nervous system regulation plans that clients can practice between sessions for lasting change
Integrate breathwork, movement, and sensory-based regulation tools into your existing hypnotherapy framework

    Educational Outcomes

Boulder Hypnotherapy Institute (BHI) programs are educational in nature. Training outcomes depend on each student's prior education, professional background, effort, and individual learning pace. Completion of any BHI program does not guarantee employment, income, client outcomes, or professional licensure. Students are responsible for verifying that hypnotherapy practice is permitted within their jurisdiction and professional scope.

    Scope of Practice

BHI training does not confer a professional license, medical credential, or mental health credential. Graduates are responsible for practicing within their own legal scope of practice, professional licensure requirements, and ethical guidelines. Hypnotherapy is a complementary modality — it is not a substitute for medical care, psychotherapy, or mental health treatment.

    Continuing Education

Continuing education (CE) credits are approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), Provider #6571. CE eligibility and acceptance vary by licensing board and jurisdiction. Students should verify that NBCC-approved CEs satisfy their specific board's renewal requirements before enrolling. Programs designated as "0 CEs" do not offer continuing education credits.

    Training vs. Certification

"Training" programs (e.g., Level 1) award a certificate of completion, which documents your education hours and curriculum covered. "Certification" programs (e.g., Level 2+) award a professional certification credential upon successful completion of all competency requirements. Neither credential constitutes a state-issued license.

    Payment Terms

Tuition is due in full at enrollment or via the stated payment plan. Payment plans are interest-free and processed automatically on the scheduled dates. Missed payments may result in a hold on program access until the balance is current. See our full Refund & Withdrawal Policy for cancellation terms, credit transfers, and cohort deferrals.
