Clinicians who completed Level 2 describe it as the turning point in their practice — the program that made them truly confident with complex cases.
Level 1 taught me how to run a session. Level 2 taught me how to think clinically. The anxiety protocol alone transformed how I work with my most stuck clients — I had three panic disorder clients achieve significant symptom reduction within six weeks of applying what I learned.
Dr. Rebecca S.
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Austin, TX
The trauma module changed everything for me. I was terrified of working with trauma in trance — dissociation, abreactions, emotional flooding. Kelly gave us a clinical framework that's so structured and safe, I now actively seek trauma referrals. My clients feel held and I feel competent.
David H.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Minneapolis, MN
The case consultation component was worth the investment alone. Presenting my actual cases to Kelly and my cohort, getting feedback on my clinical reasoning, and watching others work through complex scenarios — that's where the real learning happened. I'm a fundamentally different practitioner now.
Natalie C.
Certified Hypnotherapist, Private Practice
Nashville, TN
I was doing good work after Level 1 but I wasn't confident with addiction cases. The addiction interruption protocols in Level 2 gave me a structured approach — I now work with smoking cessation, emotional eating, and substance patterns and actually get results. My referrals have tripled.
Dr. James L.
Licensed Psychologist (PhD)
Seattle, WA
Getting fully certified changed how referral sources see me. Physicians, psychiatrists, and other therapists now send me their most complex clients because they trust the certification. Level 2 isn't just education — it's a professional credential that opens doors.

Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)
Philadelphia, PA
Level 1 Hypnotherapy Training (or equivalent foundational training approved by our admissions team) is required. If you trained elsewhere, contact us to confirm eligibility before applying.
We assess against published clinical competencies — not just attendance. You must demonstrate proficiency in each skill domain.
Your work is evaluated through observed sessions, case presentations, and clinical reasoning assessments — not a multiple-choice exam.
You must meet minimum competency thresholds in all six domains. If you don't pass on your first attempt, you receive specific feedback and can retake the assessment.
One complimentary retake per domain within 6 months of program completion. Additional retakes available for a nominal fee.
Upon passing, you receive the Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification — a professional credential recognized by referral networks and professional organizations.
Your instructor watches you work with real clients and provides structured feedback on technique, pacing, safety, and clinical reasoning.
Present your actual client cases to Kelly and your cohort. Get expert feedback on assessment, treatment planning, and protocol selection.
Every skill domain has a published rubric so you know exactly what 'competent' looks like — no guessing, no subjectivity.
Regular check-ins with your instructor to identify strengths, growth edges, and specific practice targets.
Live Online sessions covering anxiety protocols, trauma resolution, addiction interruption, age regression, and advanced clinical applications.
Present your actual client cases for expert feedback. Get real-time guidance on clinical reasoning, protocol selection, and treatment planning.
Detailed protocol manuals for anxiety, trauma, addictions, and regression — including session scripts, decision trees, and contraindication guides.
Complete training in trauma-informed hypnotherapy including dissociation management, abreaction protocols, stabilization techniques, and integration strategies.
Graduate as a fully certified clinical hypnotherapist. Credential recognized by professional organizations and referral networks.
Lifetime access to our Level 2 alumni community for case consultation, peer support, and continuing professional development.
CEs are not offered for Level 2.
Level 2 is a certification track with supervised assessment and competency requirements rather than a CE-accredited training format.
If you need CE hours, Level 1 training includes 32 NBCC-approved CEs.
Each level builds on the last. Choose where to start based on your experience.
Join Level 2 and become the practitioner who doesn't refer out the hard cases — you become the referral.

Educational Outcomes
Boulder Hypnotherapy Institute (BHI) programs are educational in nature. Training outcomes depend on each student's prior education, professional background, effort, and individual learning pace. Completion of any BHI program does not guarantee employment, income, client outcomes, or professional licensure. Students are responsible for verifying that hypnotherapy practice is permitted within their jurisdiction and professional scope.
Scope of Practice
BHI training does not confer a professional license, medical credential, or mental health credential. Graduates are responsible for practicing within their own legal scope of practice, professional licensure requirements, and ethical guidelines. Hypnotherapy is a complementary modality — it is not a substitute for medical care, psychotherapy, or mental health treatment.
Continuing Education
Continuing education (CE) credits are approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), Provider #6571. CE eligibility and acceptance vary by licensing board and jurisdiction. Students should verify that NBCC-approved CEs satisfy their specific board's renewal requirements before enrolling. Programs designated as "0 CEs" do not offer continuing education credits.
Training vs. Certification
"Training" programs (e.g., Level 1) award a certificate of completion, which documents your education hours and curriculum covered. "Certification" programs (e.g., Level 2+) award a professional certification credential upon successful completion of all competency requirements. Neither credential constitutes a state-issued license.
